Q: Who owns the copyright of your remasters?

A: Always the original composer(s). We claim no copyright even on the arrangements made from scratch as we think that even when sequenced, the score is an original idea of the composer, which is always credited on the video page (here and on youtube).

Q: Why your remasters are very much similar (if not equal) to the original game music?

A: Simply because it is the project goal to produce a remaster as faithful as possible to the original. We can’t stress enough to repeat that this is not a remix project. There are already many (good) ones, so if you are looking for a remix, consider searching elsewhere.

Q: You are just ripping MIDI files!

A: False. As stated before, we claim no copyright on the remasters produced and the original composers are always credited. We will never ever state that we are the composers of the music remastered.
Ripping involves the claim of ownership of the score/arrangement: this is what we will never do, even when hours or days are spent on sequencing/arranging/rearranging, as we totally respect the composers work and this project is also a tribute to them.

Q: You remastered song XX from game YY. I can’t find an equivalent MIDI anywhere, could you send me your arranged version?

A: Short answer: no. Long answer: it was our intention to release our self sequenced MIDIs, but a recently happened discussion made us change our mind. Although we think that game music is a public treasure, the offensive approach of some people, lacking of respect for other people work, led us to this decision. Maybe sometime in the future we will change our mind again.

Q: Why you made this project?

A: Most of the staff members come from the coin-op age and passed thru the MOD/MIDI music era. We started this as a tribute to all the composers who made all the beautiful music that enriched gaming experience.

Q: I can’t find the MP3’s!

Q: What is a promo remaster?

A: A promo remaster is an unfinished remaster, usually pre-published as a promo (indeed) for the full final revision of the song. The differences between promo remasters and final rendered remasters could be many, on top of all sound quality.
